Monday Favorties..Friday edition!

Well I haven't posted anything in a week! How times flies in the summer...it's not like I'm busy like I am during the school year.  We just do some activity every day and times gets a away from me!
I do have some favorites this week!
1. Mouse sander. So easy to use and worked fantastic on the dresser I bought at an antique shop for Clark! Love how easy it is to use and quick too!

2. Essie nail color:ORANGE!
I gotta find this soon for my toes and nails!

3.  Baby that says "Da-da"  Charlie does, it's so cute!

Friday night

Well, its Friday night. I am in my jammies and we have one baby asleep and the other is getting read stories..it's only 8 o'clock but I am ready for bed! It's exhausting with little ones all day but I sure love it. Charlie got his first tooth yesterday, he refused to take a nap and was up from 11:15-7:00pm but he did sleep all night so I can't complain!

I have also started to read the Hunger Games and after about 3 nights of reading while I put Charlie down, I've managed to get 22% done. (On the Kindle Fire) I actually bought it for Scott's birthday but since he has only used it a few times I decided to start using it and that is the first book I loaded. Its really nice to have a reader and not those books laying around. I mean you read them once then they are just there taking up space. Scott has a stack on his night stand collecting dust and we have a whole slew in the bottom of our linen closet! Well I think I'll go lie on the couch and watch T.V. as my wind down before bed. On to another adventure tomorrow!

Fun run #2

Well Clark did his second fun run and while he and I practiced by running around the neighborhood, he was still not able to run quickly during the race. I do think he loves it and has fun. It's not like they "win" or anything but we'd at least like to see him running at a decent speed. I've said that he "frolics along" but doesn't really run. My mom said she even saw an added skip in there too. In his defense another boy actually fell in front of him, twice.  Maci just looks like a little runner so she does fine. Maybe we should have them practice together...lol.
On another note, I went to this new antique shop downtown. I was so impressed! It's a really old building that they recently renovated. I mean recently here it it June and they had pictures of it on their wall of this past April of what it looked like and oh my have they redone it! Well I was so pleased by this place. I found a few things I am going back to look at today! : ) One thing is this old oak dresser, really well made, for Clark to replace this one we got last year that has already fallen apart. I will need to refinish and replace the hardware but I'm so excited!!

Monday Favorites!

These are a few of my favorite things right now!
Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

1.Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

Love this stuff! It goes on like a lipstick but feels like chapstick! I have several colors but my summertime favorite is called Super Strawberry. Its a little brighter pink and looks good for my slightly tanned face! Lasts a while also and doesn't really smudge. So awesome!

2. Organic bananas. Something about these guys gets me to eat them! I go on morning runs/walks and this is the perfect after workout snack for me. (Although I usually add in some cheese or a granola bar.)

3. My new quick dry hairbrush form Goody! I actually think this works.  I have past should length hair and when I get out of the shower I wrap my hair in a towel. When I comb my hair out it's really wet still. This brush seems to take out a lot of the wetness and really seems to speed up the drying time!

Hangin' in my favorite Jammies

These jammies are super cute. Charlie is only 7 months old but these are size 12 months. I think we are going to run into a problem because Clark wasn't in 12months clothing until the winter! They have these little monsters on the pants and the shirt says, "What are you looking at?" So funny to see a baby wearing that! I love Carter's clothes, so well made and inexpensive too! He looks like a little boy though and not so much like a baby! : (

Notice the cats in the background!

Clark's always watching his little brother!

Mid-crawl! He is getting so fast and just learned to crawl like a week ago!

Clark was making firetruck sounds and Charlie was of course interested. He thinks Clark is so funny and loves watching him! I was worried about his toes and fingers getting ran over.

Good Morning!

I always forget how nice it is to wake up and see bright sunshine and clear blue skies!  I really forget about it in the midst of winter when it's been cold and gray for weeks on end....boo. I do think that the fact that I'm off work for three months has something to do with it as well :) That's one thing I told Scott the other day. "We will have summers off for the rest of our lives!" His reply was, "Until the boys are in college and they need money and we have to teach summer school." Ugg summer school, just the thought brings me down. But for now on to summer!
We had a picnic outside at Kennecuit Park yesterday. It was really nice getting some kids together to play and eat lunch on the grass (well a blanket.)  Charlie fell asleep on the way home for 10 minutes then woke when we pulled in the garage. He refused to nap for 2 hours after that!
We also celebrated Grandpa Kenny's birthday by going out to eat at La Potasina and had the grandparent's over afterwards. A lazy susan and some dipping pretezels and cheese dip from Harry and David's was the gift we gave him. He really wanted the Lazy Susan for his patio table and the cheese dip and pretezels are delicious! Scott has been requesting them for a while. I did buy us some too and he eats them for a snack daily!

Wonder what is in store for today? We are supposed to be getting a new water heater. Oh boy the
 excitement! : )

Fun Run!

Well it turned out to be an awesome Monday evening. It was sunny and 75 degrees, perfect weather if you ask me! We got to the park a bit early since we'd never been to one of these things before. Clark and Charlie did quite well waiting for the races to begin.  Charlie sat in his stroller and Clark did stretches and talked with his friends.

Rain day Monday

We really do need rain here. When we are at home on rainy days, it tends to get boring really quickly though.  We tried out Clark on the Wii. He played an Elmo game, and actually did quite well with it.  He and Charlie rolled around, laughed at bit and then we ate lunch. They are both taking their afternoon nap and I have finished cleaning up a few things (toliets, yuck)  We are supposed to see Clark do his first "Fun Run" at Winter Park later but it is still pretty cloudy and wet out. He asked "Is Charlie going to watch me do that run?" Yes Clark he is! LOL

Summer Days

These are the days my husband and I look forward to all year. Well since we are teachers, we now will have everyday for the next 10 weeks or so, off!! Now with two kids, I do admit it is much more busy and more challenging to get things done around here but we love every minute of it!!! Scott has trimmed the bushes and is currently mulching, a lot.  He has added 5 yards of mulch already ($300) ($400, YIKES) later and he is still not done! That is what happens when you go without mulch for 2 years I guess.  Some spots in the landscaping were actually just dirt so I guess we really needed mulch!
Clark looks like he is helping, wearing the gloves and all but really he only lasted like  minutes. Most of the time that Charlie and I were out there, he was running around, messing with Charlie, and NOT helping at all!
Charlie loves to smile at his Daddy! He actually sat in the shade on a blanket for about 20 minutes or so just watching.
Clark loves to make ridiculous faces for the camera...I call this the chipmunk face.

Charlie was looking up at the tree because it was kinda windy and he really likes to watch the leaves blow around! It was so cute to see him looking at simple things that normally go unnoticed.
I think Scott is going to complete the mulch today. Wonder what project will get done next!?!

Goals revisited

Update on these goals!
Well, I have to say I'm not much for Resolutions, I wouldn't keep them really. So this year I decided to make an accomplishment list. That way if I do something on the list I get to cross it off the list. I am giving myself (and family) a year to do these things:
1. Pay off Scott's truck WE are almost there,,,one more payment!!
2. Pay off windows
3. get/pay off furnace almost paid off
4. become more fit (go from flab to not as flabby) currently working on this
5. take a family vacation does going to Memphis count? We are!
6. smart grocery shop for a month 2months 6months 9months doing much better here too
7. go back to some couponing/drug store shopping a month 2months 6months 9months

Also we have refinanced our house (again) and are set to close on Monday, June 18th.  Super excited, only have 15 years instead of 30 and locked in @ 2.75%!!!

Miles bday party

May 12, 2012
Miles bday party.  We had a great time..went fishing, ate lunch, even a hay ride.  Clark loved the cowboy theme. Charlie took a nap. It was hot but a nice day.
When we arrived, we got our bait...Miles greeting us!
 Miles and Mommy, Carrie.
Admiring his badge after lunch :)
Attempting fish but they didn't catch anything. Mommy caught two fish though! : )
Riding in the front of the hay ride is better than riding on the hay ride I guess.
Somebody was really hot and tired and passed out for a bit.
Touching one of the fish that Mommy caught. Daddy had to take it off the hook though.
Running around like a real cowboy!
